Tell us a little about your cav days.
Best years of my life. Where else can a young buck sergeant plan and lead an armed patrol. Worked in border ops at camp Reed. Camp duty NCO at Rotz there at the end. Was at Graf range 81 when the US hockey team beat the Russians. Don't have anything bad to say about the 2nd ACR. Always Ready Sir.
Tell us a little about you now.
I retired from our great Army in July of 1998 where I was the first sergeant of Delta company 1/67 Armor 4th ID. Fort Hood. Those were the best 22 years of my life. I currently work in the maintenance department of Mclanes food distribution. I have had several jobs but nothing keeps my interest like the military did. Nor does anyone have the Pride that we did. Yep, I still miss it.

Name a few buddies you served with that you would like to find.
Sorry, I'm pretty crummy with names. I met a lot of great people over the years. Had a couple platoon sergeants that I will never forget in Binlach. SFC Guirley and SFC Klotz. Those two were instrumental in my success in years to come. Little did I know at the time. My very first First sergeant, his name was Debrol ( spelling ?) Those are the guys I'll never forget.

Hey Joe, You still have Red Hair? I came across an old picture where 2nd Platoon was partying out in front of the barracks and you were drinking beer out of a boot. Fun times.
Hey, Joe: In 1994 my career was winding down. I was the Copmtroller for the 1st Infantry Division. I did several rotations in that position before I retired in 1994. The Garrison CO, COL Stacey Hodges (?) and I developed a really good relationship, even though I was only a Captain. Those were the days!

Hello Joe. You were in SFC Freddy Gurley's Second Platoon. I was in the radar section from 77 - 80. I am the crazy one who stripped down bare-ass and took a bitch-bath at Graf when it was about 15 degrees in 1977. I remember all the cruits asking, "Who is that crazy SOB?" Top Miller told them that's SGT Crockett from radar. You'll probably work for him on the border after we leave Graf. Long time gone, now.
