Hey Davy,  Don't know if you remember me or not. I was in 2nd platoon (SFC Gurly) and then was Cpt Lute's Driver. I was on the Rock from 77-81.  It was shortly after I arrived that SSG Hurst had a heart attack. A SFC took over I and I can't recall his name. I remember when I was OPs NCO at Camp Gates he would be coming back from checking on you guys It would be in the middle of the morning he would sneak around to the Border Ops Window and peek in to see if we were sleeping.  Oh the good times!

Davy, I know monickers are Long Lasting, Top Miller stuck with me until the end of my Army career and DOA civilian years which stretched out over 44 years,  One of my great grandsons thinks thats odd that anyone should be calling Gramps that. Stay in touch. Top

Hey thanks for sending me a comment, how cool is that.. I was a brand new E-0.... They sent me out with your GSR team to pull real security. I remember one night your cigarettes got wet so you placed them on the jeep engine to dry them. Yep, you also showed us how to use jeep motor oil to keep the mosquitoes away. I stayed on the Rock until 81. Came back later to I Troop 3/2 from 85-88. Loved the duty, good times.
I actually ran into Gurley at the Ft. Irwin back back in 94ish.. I was an OC there and just floored

me when he called out my name. Couldn't believe he remembered me after all those years.
I was digging around on Google last night and found our 1977 C Troop portrait ! Over the years I've lost my troop fight patches, tanker jacket, black beret. But here with the Troop Portrait I had proof to my wife of all those stories. All those freezing cold patrols, all the lonely GSR sites. Yep ol friend, we played a significant part in history. We actually had a part in bringing down the wall. Of all my 22 years in the Green Machine those years with the 2nd ACR are by far my fondest.

Thanks for contacting me, it's been a pleasure writing you. Take care of yourself Bobby, Joe.
