Just thought I'd let you know that your friend Phil Spratt passed away Sept 10.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHNWishing you many more, from all of us at DragoonBase!!!
Wishing you many more!!!
From all of us at DragoonBase.
I figured out where I know the name Mike Lyle. He was in a story in the last Thoroughbred newsletter about the border Cav days.
I e-mail Tom Stewart and Tom Molino quite a bit. Tom Stewart sent me his silver spurs to wear at the Regiment's homecoming in November. Tom Molino was there and we got to take a picture together at the Stable Call. The German bier had kicked in pretty good by then. First time I'd seen him in 33 years!
Welcome John to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures(pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).
And that you please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.
Thanks again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
Jesse Kelley
You know Pete went on to become the Chief of Staff of the Army, right? President Bush brought him out of retirement after being the Commanding General of Delta Force.
Mike Lyle rings a bell too. I've seen his name somewhere recently, but can't remember where.
I see you have "Ranger Pete" Schoomaker on your buddy list. He was my first CO in C Trp 1974, until Tom Molino, the current President of the 2nd Cavalry Association, took over the troop.
Tom Brossart is a member here also. As you are both from Mount Airy, may I assume he is how you found our happy little group?
Always Ready, sir!
