Mr.Kissel, the name of Spec.4 "Granpaw" was Ed Clark from Butte, Montana. He was my driver before he became a mechanic.I was in C-Trp 73-77.Do you still make that "special"coffee in a #10 can?One cup of that in the field could keep a guy going for 2-3 days ,at least! I could use it sometimes on third shift now.[Sgt.] Rick "Reamo"Reames

Sounds just like a guy I knew in Stuttgart when I was in the MP's, Sgt. Kirby. Little-bitty guy with no teeth. He'd been in for about 19 years and was still an E-5. They were getting ready to kick him out when I left.

Tell us a little about your cav days.

I got to the Rock Msgt Householder was the Motor Sgt of C Troop. I fell in to the shop foreman slot. As close as I can remember Every time we went to the boarder I went to Camp Gates most of the time. There was SP5 Cain, Walter Stoneking (we inherited from the line paltoons), SP4 Grand Pa (can't remember the name)every time we made him E5 eighter Sgt or SP5 the next he'd get busted just wanted to do his 20 (also barrowed from the line, SP4 Paul mos qualified retriever operator, SP4 Kent an accually trained mechanic, I think I finally got Morin permoted to SP4 but aint sure (tool room man) also barrowed, SP4 Haydon Parts Clerk, Can't seem to remember the tamms clerks name, (I know need my rear kicked). Cpt (slide rule) Malino Trp Commander, Cpt EDmond Trp Commander (good man also from Wyoming) Ran me up to Squadron however for a suspended bust, Can't seem to remember the 1st shirts name though (know I'm gonna hear about that). Oh well the best story I have is the time Stoney got into a fight with a german. The german it seems touched Carol inappropertly. I wound up at the scene. The MP's wouldn't give me any information. It wound up with me being arrested for drunk and disorderly. Along with the maintenace section that was on the scene. Carol want to charge the MP's with police brutality. As I told the Sqt Comander the only brutal act was who ever triped me into the hood of the sedan. When I came up they handled the only way the could.

I currently Drive for Vanderhule M&S of Yankton, SD taking the mail from Cheyenne, Wy to Gillette, Wy; though just a 500 mile trip it takes 2 days. I am paid by the hour. Still as onory as ever.
