Tell us a little about your cav days.
Spent every birthday and every Christmas either at the border, at Graf or at the railhead. My ex-wife saw Europe and I saw it snow in June on the border. My first platoon leader, Jeff Kulp, retired a little over a year ago as a full-bird. I showed up in Germany after serving in 2/8 Cav, 1st Cav Div. and the young woman at the inprocessing center looked at my paperwork and said, "I know where he's going..." Once Cav, Always Cav
Tell us a little about you now.
I'm old. I remember when the 2d Cav veterans from WWII came to visit us on the border and I thought they were so old and were probably so impressed by our equipment. I'm about the same age now that they were then and it seems like only yesterday. Like them, I remain still Always Ready.
Name a few buddies you served with that you would like to find.
Dave Warner and I went to basic together and he was assigned to either 1/2 or 2/2. I'd like to find Henry Shoemaker, (Capt.) Peter Looker, (Lt.) Larry Deaton, Kelly Steele, and a bunch of other folks I haven't seen in a long time. Blair Fisher and I keep in touch - he was my replacement as Training NCO. Jeff Kulp retired as a full-bird and now works for Booz-Allen-Hamilton. Jordon Jokiel is an environmentalist in Hawaii.

Hello Mark, it's great to hear from you. Thanks for reaching out. Hooah!
I'm living the dream in New Mexico now, and, like the rest of us, just growing older (resisting it as much as possible).
Reading your comments above, made me homesick for M 3/2 and the great Troopers I was privileged to command. Damn time sure flies!
I'm going back to Valley Forge next year (Oct 2015) to rejoin the Regiment for our annual reunion. I sure wish you and some of the boys could join us. Until then God bless and Toujours Pret brother!
Welcome Mark,Peter Looker is on the site.Lives in new Mexico.
Mark,
I noticed you mentioned LT Kulp. He lived a couple of doors down from me in Vilseck (2002-2003 timeframe). He was a LTC then and commanded one of the armor battalions (2-63 or 3-63). I was the BRT 1SG at the time. Good dude.
Seems Vera was a favorite of many. I used to refer to my few days with her as my Vera Era:)
Welcome to the base Base Mark. There is a lot to do here but reconnecting with old buddies is the best part. I'm sure there are some Mike Troopers around.
