Tell us a little about your cav days.
First Day was Thanksgiving Day 1981 assigned to G-Troop while the unit was in the field. Less than a year later I was reassigned to HHT join a team that was reworking all of the squadron truck suspension systems. once that was completed I was assigned to be the Sgt Major driver. In Feb of 83 I was in Camp Hof with the Sgt Major when Vice President Bush came through for his press tour and gave his speech that day in the village of Mouldereuth (spelling). I returned to the 2/2 in 1987 after a break in active duty, this time assigned to HWB. I was there for the reunification in November 1989. I left in March of 1990 to help out on the family farm and take on the role as a Motor Sgt for a local National Guard unit. This is where I was assigned during the Gulf War as I stood by ready for the call.
Tell us a little about you now.
I went on to become an ASE Mater Certified Medium Heavy Diesel Truck Technician, but work injuries ended that career so I changed fields and went into Non Destructive Testings performing industrial ultrasonic and X-ray inspections in both the aerospace and railroad industries. I've worked on projects for both the space shuttle and the international space station in Salt Lake City. I spent six years at GE Aerospace in San Marcos, Texas performing automated ultrasonic inspections and CT Xray scans by linear accelerators. I also spent 18 years performing Ultrasonic track inspections for the railroads until 2019 when I was pinned, crushed, and dragged between two track bound vehicles nearly ended my life. Since then I now have a car service consisting of a small fleet that provides transportation to those who need it. I employ about three people part time to help supplement their income.
