Yep, I was there during that period of time.  Gallanis wasn't on my crew, but he was in my light armored section.  As I remember, you guys played a lot of Dungeons and Dragons.  Amazed me years later when my sons played the computerized versions of the same game.  Seems to me that somebody told be that Gallanis had later become an officer or had gone to OCS or something of that nature.  As I remember, SGT Turner was Gallanis' tank commander.  They didn't get along at all.

I remember the Sheridan incident well. It happened on April first....April fools day, no joke. Sorry about the downsizing for you Rick.

As crazy as hurricane season is here, the ICS brings a sense of organization to it that is very familiar & comforting- like its been done before & somebody has actually thought it through. People fall apart down here, even old timers, when the only thing that you can really do is move, and they refuse to.

This past week was just a taste of things to come- low 90s & metric shitload of mosquitoes. It seems like I've been going to college my entire adult life. I actually took my 1st course in Amberg via U. of MD in1979!! 30 years is a long, long time to grind on text books. Does IL. work off the federal ICS. Its got a military task organization feel to it. Works well for big fires & hurricane response. I always get stuck being the OPS Chief. Damned S-3!

Still grinding away. Not really looking forward to the summer though- bugs, humidity, and hurricanes. This place is not fit for man nor beast. However, I am going to Mexico for summer school. A much needed "college experience". You?

Tell us a little about your cav days.

I was part of a wargaming group in Amberg. Other members included; Mike Gallanis, Sam Lewis, Ed Colson, Randy Bealer, Vic Vale, and others I only recall by nicknames. I did as much travel as our training schedule allowed. Married a girl from Amberg, and we will celebrate our 30th Anniversary in November of 09.

Tell us a little about you now.

After my 1st enlistment I reenlisted for Telecommunications training. After I left Active Duty I began a career in Telecommunications that has covered more than 20 years.

Name a few buddies you served with that you would like to find.

Randy Bealer, Vic Vale, Reggie Brown, Chet Michalak, Scott Francis.
