Sgt Kennedy I found some photos of you I thought you might like. When I was your driver back in 1982
This young man is now 51 years old. But I know, I also picture everybody as they were. All those names bring back good times, at Graf and Capstone, Reed and May. My best memory of you is late one night as we were leaving the front door of the L Trp barracks, your first step out the door hit some ice and landed flat on your back. Without trying to get back up you were sternly warning us about the danger and watching where you step. Just kind of stuck with me thru the years.
Steve! Great to hear from you! I didn't know you were back in the States. Never been to San Antonio but maybe someday. I'm still in the Orlando area working as a defense contractor. I'm now VP of a small business that handles information assurance for the Navy and Army and other companies doing defense work. I have a great group of IA Analysts that have been keeping me very busy. You take care as well and all the best to you and yours also!
I'd rather be up in the turret with what I can trust rather than down in the weeds with... an unknown commodity.
Steve, Praying for our troops is something my daughters and I do every night. We'll put your boy at the top of the list. I know you're gonna sleep with one eye open until his safe return. Let me know what unit he's assigned to so I can keep tabs on his AO. Life has never been better for me. I'm mostly drug free( except caffeine). Yep, I finally gave up the Marlboros. A 6-pack used to last me 20 minutes, now it lasts 2 weeks!! I'm surrounded by 4 beautiful women that love me (mom, wife, and 2 daughters). I'm getting up at 0445 most mornings to go swim laps at the YMCA pool, but today I wanted to mix it up so I ran 8 miles. I should've done this in my 30s! Keep your weapons up & downrange!
SSG Kennedy !! (or alteast you were a SSG in '83)
You were my TC in L Troop from 81-83. If you don't remember I was the loader and PFC Bailey was the driver, and you had 2 gunners one was SP4 Stuckey and then PFC Reed. Good times back then. In case you still don't remember I went to Boeselager for a season then when I came back you and the 1SG made me go to S-1 in HQ for my last 4 months before I ETS'd because they found out I had a Sec MOS as a legal clerk. I hated that because I missed out on my last border trip and it was during the summer. I also remember you and SGT Gray were buds and didn't know he might have passed until I read another thread. It's good to know some of us are still around.
Glad to hear he's back. Families ought to be together for the holidays.- even if that means me driving to Canada (again). At least they all know how to "celebrate" north of the border. My 6 yo almost beat me at Scrabble last night. That tell you anythng? The little one aint little. She's up to my waist at 4 yo! The eldest brought my Grandson to visit a few months back. I've got a 4 year old daughter & a 2 year old grandson. Talk about feelin' it. Cheese & Crackers!
