Well come to this place Sir. These guys (girls & boys) have put togeather a neat and easy place to re-unite with some great people, and remember a time in History we did the job we had to do. Under your command Sir we faced some difficult times. The Cuban crisis was pretty nerve wracking, as we could only prepare for the worst.TOUJOURS PRET. Not long after that we are called on again Our commander and chief J.F.K.  was assasinated. Toujours pret  and here we go again. I know I speak for my self, but under you command Sir if there was any butt kickin it never got back to us.53 years later all I can say is THANK YOU SIR,that truly was a wild trip...

      News and History Centers.

Tell us a little about your cav days.

Served under Col's Schlanser, Pickett and Preer, all of whom made at least Brig Gen. Had a great bunch of NCO's and EM which made my job easy and productive. During this time, we were the first tactical unit to convert from the old AN-GRC series FM radios to the new FM radios. My job at that time was to draw up the plans for the conversion to insure no lose of commo with any other units with whom we worked--VII Corps and 4th Armd Div primarily and of course within the regiment. The toughest part was having to brief the 7th Army Signal Officer, (then Col -later MG Gen Latta) that everything would work--he was a real tough hombre. President Kennedy was shot during this tour and the commo lines were burning up with transmissions--tense time--but the commo men did a real bang-up job and kept the commanders appraised of all the high level traffic.

Tell us a little about you now.

Retired an LTC from Ft Huachuca, Az and stayed here in So Az to enjoy the weather and people. My wife (retired teacher) and I are doing pretty well for two old fogies--watching the kids, grandkids and great-grand kids grow up. After spending many years in COLD assignments like Germany, Ft Drum, NY, Bozeman,Mont, Korea and the like--it's nice to enjoy the weather here.--To all you out there-Active and Retired, Remember Toujours Pret and pray for our guys in harms way.
