ALWAYS READY!
Wishing you a happy birthday. Hope the years are being kind to you.

Did you pull a border tour with I troop in 70 - 71? Your name is so very familiar; There was a 2-story house up on the border with a small, platoon-size barracks in the BAck.
I usta "volunteer" to be the "mechanic" up there for the tour. It was great being seperate from the rest a the troop; everyone kept to themselves, I think we spent the whole tour up there with one record on a scratchy, battery-operated record player.
Steppenwolf's American Woman was the record, that's all we heard all month, as we spent endless hours cooped up in the barracks with our crumbly stuff.
enny recollection?

MY EX-CO WAS THE BORDER OFFICER FROM 3RD SQ IN AMBERG, CAPT. NELSON VOLK, HE IS A MEMBER OF DRAGOONBASE. WE WERE TOGETHER ON THE BORDER WHEN JFK WAS SHOT.
Yeah, well other than those things....actually meant the years we were there. I can relate to the memory lapses. I can remember only small bits of pieces of my time in Germany, but I blame that on discovering flip-top beer. I did spend about two months in the Army hospital in Nurmberg learning how to eat through a straw. Ah, to be young and stupid again. I see 2 of your teams did well today. BB just starting now. Good luck!

Welcome Jim,
Our times in Germany pretty much mirrored each other. Take a look at the Oldtimer's group, quite a varied and friendly bunch. You might see some old friends or make some new ones.
