Welcome William. I was in C Troop 1st Platoon '75-78. SSgt Webb, "Lurch" to some. Didn't fit inside of Sheridan so good but he did it, knees up around his ears. Man, I would do it again if they would let me.
"Ranger Pete" Schoomaker was the CO when I first got there, then Tom Molino took over about six months later.
Pete ended up the highest ranking general in the Army when he got Chief of Staff. Tom Molino went on to command one of the Squadrons (2nd?) and later commanded the regiment when it was out here at Ft Lewis. After retiring he became the President of the 2d Cavalry Association for many years. He is here on Dragoon Base, along with our former First Sergeant Jack Miller.
Several former C Troopers from our time here at Dragoon Base you might remember...Marty Banning, Bob Ryan, Gene Beck, LT Jim Mitchell, SSG "Butch" Cassidy, SGT Cain, SGT Brian Conlon, SGT Kissel, Brian Parten, and probably a few more I missed.
I couldn't find you in the 1975 troop photo (find it here: http://history.dragoons.org/modules/gallery/Troop_Portraits/C_Troop...), but you might be at the bottom where the names are cut off. I was already gone by the time that photo was taken. I left in February '75 when we were at Camp Pitman. 3rd platoon might have been at Camp Gates then. I was in 1st platoon, Lt Andy Stilley's driver.
I have an old troop roster from Nov 1974 with you on it, between Eddie Williams and Curt Zeller. Curt was a crazy acid-head from Seattle who only lasted a couple months before getting kicked out of the Army. Found him living with my parents when I got home. BIG SURPRISE!
Welcome home Trooper.

Victor,
Welcome to Dragoon Base. Your name really rings a bell. Which C Troop platoon were you in and what month did you get there? I got to C Troop January '74.
Were you there in July when we blew up C-15? For the ski trip to Garmisch?
