  Thanks for the comment. I'm a little rusty with the names of all the troopers in L Troop while I commanded. I believe you had several platoon leaders and COs while you were there. I was proud to be one of the troopers, too. This was by far the best command I had while in the Army. It was, also, the best troop in the Regiment in 1977-78, by any measure applied to it. I had the best officers and NCOs working for me there and they are the ones who deserve the congratulations and accolades. I only wish I could remember everyone there while I was the commander. Thanks for your remembering me. Let me know what you're doing now. I hope to see you at the next reunion in DC. Tourjours Pret. Bob

  Going to Danville Va on the 19th thru 22nd and going to the armor museum there to see the Sheridan they have restored. Sure would be a hoot to see you again.

  Hey Bill, you left before I got to L Troop, but I was the loader on LAGHAF for about at year when I got there in Feb of 78. Had SGT Wandell for TC, SGT Dietle (spelling?) as gunner, and Donny Hill as driver.

  Hi Bill,
  I saw your comment about the 2nd Cav at the Little Bighorn. The only reason the 2nd Cavalry wasn't AT the battle was because Custer refused to take them with him. Wanted all the glory to himself. He got it.

  Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
  Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos,links,ect) in the Forum.
  If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or myself, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
  And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures(pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).
  And that you please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.
