This stuff is all new to me but I will give it a try forgive any misspelling of names my memory is not that good.. Well like a lot of us it was a long train ride from the 21st replacement Detachment out of Frankfurt, at that time we all had to travel in class A,s that was two sizes two big for you!, I get off the train and tried to find someone in a US Army uniform when a soldier beckons for me to come over to him he tells can I see your orders? Then tells me welcome to the Squadron!!, we get all my gear and go to a waiting M551 Jeep with no top, no doors, and a M60 7.62 machine gun mounted on top, as the two soldier from K-Troop, joke about taking me to the border camp as it was raining, snowing, and cold I wonder to myself what have I gotten myself in too!. Toujours Pret, The Adventure Begins!! I was also at Bergen Belford form May to June for Support of M co and the 1979 CAT.

Happy birthday Graham I hope your doing well and enjoyed your birthday day.
My German is not very good. Even though we have lived here a long time, we work on-post and speak English all day. I would like to be able to speak German better, but I have so much to do that leaves me little time to study. If my situation was more like our daughter's, it would be much easier. She works in the German community, so she is constantly needing to use German to conduct her business. She is a doctor of chiropractic and married to a German man.
Who could forget LTC Landry or CSM Chittick? For good or for ill, 1SG Lyons is even here. Lt Rob Lytle just showed up here last month. I remember Brown's face. Didn't he work in the S-1? I was in K Trp my first tour (78-80), L Trp and HHT (S-3) the second time around (81-84). Who's that breakin' starch with a border tab on their hat? Considering the photo of you sporting the beret, I guess we both stood in the same chow hall line!
Welcome home. There are plenty of troopesr here that were in Amberg and even some from the S-4. I remember half of the names you dropped and recognized a few faces too. Seems like yesterday even though its been 35 years. Good times!
Just a reminder, we are asking for first and last name please.
Toujours Pret Graham
