Bernard, Thank you for your kind words. It sounds like you progressed through the Army and then onto your career with the department of State. Congrats!
I used the educational bill to attend The Ohio State University after leaving the Army. After graduation I got hired by the Department of The Interior, U.S. Geological Survey. I retired from the USGS in May, 2014. Total government service including military was 37 years.
I am married and living in Columbus, Ohio.
I will not be attending the Dragoon reunion this year, but thanks for the reminder!
How was your duty station in Italy?

Bernard, Thank you very much for the heads-up you sent a few days ago! Sorry for the delayed reply. My laptop was over heating and I waited until Microsoft replaced it with a new one.
I kind of remember you. I remember Carpenter. I am on Facebook, retired a couple of years ago and living in Columbus OH.
I was a member of the Dragoons years ago, but dropped my contact. An old army friend, Bill Rafferty sent me a small missive from the Dragoons Base a couple of days before I heard from you.
Cheers! Rich Frehs
I'll have to dig up my Troop photo and look at your face. thanks for the complement! i did become a Police officer, Retired in 2009 as a Sergeant. I sure do kick myself in the ass for getting out of the Army, I loved it. I'm hoping to get to pa. i live close enough that I can commute.
Bernard,
I remember the day I left Amberg too! Wish I'd hadn't. LTC. Smith offered me E-6, $12,000 and OCS, but I turned him down for a skirt back home. I could of had a hell of a career in the ARMY.
Carpenter was on my Border Team, but I apologize, I don't remember you.
Was surprised when the computer flagged your message up! I haven't been on this site in a few years ( to my shame)
Only guy I have been in contact with from the old days was Mike Price from Michigan. I'll have to make it here more often, to keep in touch.
