Tell us a little about your cav days.

I was Tank section Sergeant. We had M60a3's and ITV's. I think they were designated M901. With a TOW launcher hammerhead. Served with 1SG McKinney who later became SMAJ of the Army. We spent the majority of our time away to Border Patrols, Tank Gunnery's and maneuvers at Hohenfels. Interspersed with muster alerts and movements of the entire Sqdrn to border.

Tell us a little about you now.

I l was detailed to Recruiting duty in Los Angeles and involuntarily extended. 6yrs total. Which blocked my ability to attend ANCOC or Master Gunner School. I was highly successful as a recruiter promoted to SFC and when I received the top award at the time Recruiter Ring I pushed the Bde Commander to relieve me from Recruiting duty so I could spend one last tour back on the tank. I was sent to M-1 transition training, Scout Plt Leader Course and became Cavalry Platoon Sergeant in 1/1 Cav 1st Armored Division in Buedingen Germany. After retirement I moved home to Arkansas and became a teacher. After 23yrs teaching I am now retired completely and spend my time working with charity organizations and relaxing by playing World of Tanks.
