Tell us a little about your cav days.
Met a beautiful German girl by the name of Luise Foster who worked at Woolworth's in Bayreuth. I got an overseas discharge planning to get married. Couldn't get a job in Germany because I didn't speak German so came back to the US. I planned to bring her to the US but after a year things just didn't work out. In the US I went to work for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, met a lady and got married. Later divorced.
Tell us a little about you now.
Retired from Boeing in 2005 when Pratt & Whitney bought us from Boeing. Pratt asked me to stay on so I did until 2012 when I retired from them. After my 2nd wife Ramona of 27 years passed away I met a lady from Nicaragua in 2001 and we were married in 2002. We currently live in Simi Valley, California. We built a second home on in Santa Cruz, Nicaragua and also have a coffee farm and cattle ranch where we raise cattle, horses and grow coffee. We currently split our time between California and Nicaragua which keeps us pretty busy.

Must have just missed you. I started in Pers in May 67. Kerley gave me a typing test to get into Pers. I came with a 71N mos, was about to be assigned to A or B Troop as a 71C. Nidowitz and Pal left a few months after I got there. Kerley and McCarthy and me hung out and hit the Strass many times. I made E6 when the Pers SGT and W3 left. I rotated (ETS) in Dec 69.
hello there Garrett and yes I do remember you. actually I remember you as Garrett Papa Bruen. I think we used our military alphabet to change it to Papa. I found this website about three years ago. I only found one person there during my stay of 28 months. He was in s 3 or something like that. The only person I have been able to contact was Paladini. I called several Paladinis in NJ off the mooch list and he called me back. He forgot who I was. Time is the factor. I sent him pics of us having a steak dinner with CW4 Byzinski or how ever you spell it after a successful personnel inspection. Anyway I think you left right after I got there in 1966 in the fall I believe. In fact I think you and Tudor there talked me into a little financial back pay paperwork at the time. As a PFC 2 the money helped. Very lucky to have pulled that one off. I have stayed in Oklahoma after getting out of the Army in 1969. Retired from AT&T and sell real estate. Nidowicz according to Paladini is still alive in NJ. I got a kick out of the names you put up there that I had forgotten about. I think I still have the mooch list. So our SFC was Sedor and Peter J Schiotis was the other SGT in personnel. Great days Sure miss the Lindi bar and the Cavic. Not sure about the spelling. Stay in touch. John
