I always had great respect for 1SG Harriman as he always played it straight up with me. If I did something wrong he slapped me down but when finally would get something right he would let me know it. He was a leader and that impressed me at 17.
As you can see on my website some guys have sent me photos. Some sent them by email and some by mail so that I could copy them. I always retrun them as I am sure that others feel the same as I do about those old photo's.
I am sure that you have many stories to tell so if you would send me some like the other guys have done I will get it up on the net. Do you remember these guys from the rifle team, LT James Pocock, LT Bacon, or Stanley Stroud or any other of the guys on the rifle team. Was Parker from C Co. Did I mention that I was at the 14th Cav reunion at San Antonio in last month. Pocock and Bacon was there. Pocock retired as a MG, and Bacon as a LTC. What years wrere you in the 14th/
Jim
1SG Harriman was CSM of the 1st of the 2nd when I was the B Troop CO in 68/69. Seemed to have a bit of a problem calling me "Sir" tho.He still had a picture of me taking the gun out of travel lock out in the field.
I'm sorry to hear that he passed. He was a great Soldier, Leader and Man.
We're at Nellis AFB Fam Camp in Las Vegas for the winter-----with a trip back home to Olympia for the holidays. I'll grab my other album then.
My cell is 253 307 6810
You're more than qualified for our Oldtimers group. Give us a look-see and come on board.

Just sent a 14ACR wine bottle stopper to an internet friend yesterday who served in 2-14.
Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie, Officers Club, F-Trp., Amberg, Medics, etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures (pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).
And that you please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.
Thanks again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
Jesse Kelley
