I was in the Survey section, When I got there a Sgt. Kirsh was in charge of survey, then shortly after it was a Sgt. Roy. and I believe a SFC Carpenter? was the chief surveyor. We had some great times doing the survey for the guns! of course we had to be way ahead of the front lines which made us susceptible, but I didn't mind cause that was my job
BTW Sir, I have a Facebook page that has a few of us that were stationed together in Bayreuth, If you would like to join that page here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#!/groups/206543082747076/

Hello Mr. Grazier, I don't know if you'll remember me, my name is Louis Montez and I was stationed at How Battery 1/2 "Downtown Bayreuth" 1976-1979. I just got in touch with Robert MacDougall, he was our squad leader I believe for our survey group! It's great to get in contact with you. I remember buying some mountaineering boots after I had talked with you about doing some climbing. Never got to do any climbing there in Germany, but I sure got into it back around the mid 80's! Anyways I wanted to say Hi and to let you know that I did remember you and I'm glad to have made contact with you
Tojour Pret Sir!
Hey Mark,
Nice to hear from you after all these years! So much water under the bridge as the saying goes. In Illinois these past few years, working as a Fed (GSA) and trying to enjoy life. Bill Weber is in Texas after retiring as a three star a few years back; Doug Lute is still in the White House, retired, but now serving as war czar, as a civilian. We've gotten together every now and then.
Blessings from flyover country,
Thom
