      Nellie,

I'm gonna hit you up again....need your help. The Regimental reunion is scheduled for November 10-12, 2011.  This year (normally it's every other year) it's in the DC area (Sheraton in Tysons Corner, VA).  There are a bunch of us from those "old" days attending. If you are interested please send me your email address (mine is bbarry8417@gmail.com) I'll send you the details.  Love to see you there.  There are usually a bunch from that time and it's a fun time with all age groups represented. Doug Lute is the guest speaker.  He was my S-3 during my second tour in Bindlach as squadron cdr.

      Nellie,

Thought I recognized that name from the old days when Bud Beck and I were in the S-3 Ops vault and you were in S-4. I'm in the process of moving back to your neck of the woods; we've got a house in Vienna, VA we're moving back to as soon as we sell the one in St. Louis.

Are you going to Knox for the reunion in May? If so, will see you there.

      Capt,

I thought that was Capt. Gingerich ... I just did not remember him that thin and Capt Nicholson is feeling NO pain .. who knew!? I saw some recent photos of Merrell Barracks and it really looks nice ... no more bullet holes. Part of the old 2ndACR / PX & Snackbar are now the Zoom-Club, whatever that is. You don't by any chance recognize rhe officer with the guitar .. looks like a Troop Commander I knew from the 2/14 or 2/11 at Bad Kissengen in '72. It should be beautiful in fall, I remember bright sunshine and cold breezes in October. Spater sir!

Hooah! Chuck Gibeaut sent me some pictures. I think you will recognize one or two of these gentlemen!!

Hooah! I was going to say ... MARYLAND - you mean Alaska south but right now I have 2" of snow on the ground and MORE coming. I barely remember LTC Myers but I do remember LTC Thompson. He and the CSM were about the same height!! What happened after your time in the Cav?

SSG Penrod, that was the other sergeant in the office. I always wondered what happened to ya'll! I have a lot of good memories about that shop - some not so good - but MOST are good stories to tell!

Sir!, I was that pain in the ass Spec 4 that shared the front office with MSgt Stultz from January ‘72 until Mar(?) ‘73. You were in the back office with Capts Freidman, Gingerich, SSG Gilbert, another SSG and a butter bar lieutenant whose name escapes me. I was the Regimental Movements co-ordinator - I wrote the orders for all of the troop convoy and rail movements. I tried to learn as much as I could from you and Capt Freidman and SSG Gilbert and Major Skelton. Some of it must have sunk in ... just took awhile.

I got in a fight with some PFC and was transferred to the Rock as “punishment”. I hated leaving HHT but the Rock was NOT punishment. I thrived. I tried to use what I had learned at HHT to become a better trooper.

If I remember correctly you were a “strac trooper” in starched fatigues. Major Skelton it was and there was a Bird Colonel at DIV/ARTY also named Skelton - but not related. Capt Hampton and then Hartley were HHT CO’s. Colonel Graham was the Regimental CO and the S-1 was Capt Nicholson, The Comptroller was Capt Bowen, There was a Capt or Major Shields that I think was the S-3.

I remember you Sir! Scouts Out!

Capt Laughton? The S-4 was Major Shelton, You worked with Capt. Friedman, (RIF ed), Capt. Gingerich, MSG Stultz and SSG Wheeler Gilbert.

      I think I know you.
