    Headquarter / Headquarters Troop and 3rd Platoon / B Troop / 1st Squadron

    Where were you stationed?

Nurnberg - Merrell Barracks Bindlach - Christensen Barracks - The Rock

What MOS or job description did you have?

    11D40 Recon Scout "SCOUTS OUT!"

    What was your rank/title?

    E-4 / Specialist 4 / Gunner / Track Commander

What years were you assigned to the 2nd Cavalry?

    1972 - 1974

Tell us a little about your cav days.

I was originally assigned to Headquarter / Headquarters Troop at Merrell Barracks in Nurnberg. I was transferred to The Rock (Bindlach - Christensen Barracks) after a slight altercation with a PFC. They thought it was punishment but I enjoyed The Rock. It was hard work, long hours and good times. J P Preston was the best Top Kick I had and he always knew that he could get a cold Coke and chips at my track during any FTX, Graf or Hohenfels trip.

Tell us a little about you now.

I put myself through college on the GI Bill and became a firefighter in 1978 and a Captain about 10 years ago. Retirement is looming but I already am working part time at my retirement job. Married for almost 20 years and we have a beautiful daughter and handsome son.

Name a few buddies you served with that you would like to find.

James Russell Roy from the Rock post office. J P Preston, Sgt. Deagan, Sgt "Rodeo" Warren, and anyone else from Third herd. Captains Bowen, Nicholson, and Hampton from RHQ/HHT.
