Tell us a little about your cav days.
Hated Garrison duty, loved the field duty. Drove the CO, Platoon Sgt., Supply, Gate Guard at Bamberg & Coberg. Drove the Scout Track in a lake for VIPs to see. The only one I knew of to use it Amphibious. Didn't use it long, hard to be a scout in an 11 ton track you could hear coming a mile away.
Tell us a little about you now.
Retired Auto body shop owner.
Name a few buddies you served with that you would like to find.

Hey Steve thanks for he info. I am going there now and check out. Arthur Franklin doesn't sound familiar, but been what 43 years. Will let you know what I find out.
I fish the Delta a lot. Will be there tomorrow for Black Bass & Stripers. Hope the water has cleared up. It has been tough. I got a 7 to 10 lb. striper last Sat. Trolling a Umbrella, new lure works great. Looks like a school of bait. 3 to 5 lures (only 3 have hooks) at once. No bass where biting. I fish the South Fork of the Mokulemne not far from B&W where I launch.
Nice fish Steve and looks like a nice boat I have a North River boat but I do not get to use it as much as I like last time I went out I was at miner slough I like to launch at arrowhead marina in yolo county I need to fish more that is for sure. I will retire soon and hope to fish more.
Congratulations on the new Baby that is good stuff I was in from 1978 until 1982 I was in Amberg from 78 until 80 and then I went to fort lewis from 80 until 82

Hey Steve,
We've got quite a few members from the 1960's, and even farther back. Just gotta know where to look.
Steve, when I left Bamberg in March 60 we were companys instead of troops. I was in Howitzer Company note not a battery had 5or6 M-52s 105 self propelled Howitzers amd I was a CW operator ( Morse code ) and rode in an M-59 PC. Our Company Commander was a Capt. Worthy a black man with lots of class. Never heard the man raise his voice or get shook. Lt. Col. Thompson was the Bn. Co and Major Hooks was his XO. I know it must have been cold in the winter but not sever enough to impress me and I grew up in N.J..The coldest winter I can remember was at AP Hill, Virginia during training manuvers, it was also the first time I saw segregation when I went to town.
Your years in Germany mirror mine, only different locales. Come on over and join the rest of us in the Oldtimers group. Need help getting around, just ask.
Harry
