welcome tom served my time at pitman and amberg 64-65 hht was radio teletype operator worked in crypto vault at pond enjoyed my short tour overthere went from there to Vietnam Toujours Pret

According to the plaque on the bottom, Pond Barracks was used as an asylum from 1992 to 1994. I guess they didn't count all the years 3rd Squadron was there.

Welcome Tom to Dragoon Base, home of the Cav Trooper. Got excited this morning when I saw your post. Although you don' t know me and I'm a bit older I guess cause I served from 58 to 60 we both live in Hemet, Ca. Hey Tom, I was there 73-75 , nice to see someone in that Era, I was in Support Plt. Drove trk truck back and forth to border, HHT Trp. Kinda think I remember you but not sure. But I am sure you know Cap. Deeply wow not my fav. Anyway best time of my life wish I would have taken more vac. Lot of border runs . Col. Landry dove his jeep. Want to go back So Bad, I know Pond Barracks are there but Wow just want to go.

Tell us a little about your cav days.

Arrived at Pond Barrack and was reassigned to S2. Spent the whole time as custodian of classified documents and flew boarder trace with my Captain. Best time of my life.

Tell us a little about you now.

Married with two children and 6 grandchildren. Love them all Semi retired from GTE. Still contracting as a OSP Engineer.
