I was station at Pond during 1970-71. Was the day room of HQTrp still painted black? Hard to believe that one could entertain oneself just looking at a candle burn for hours. Haha

Hammie, I'm not much at the "social networking" thing, but stumbled onto this site. I posted a few words and woke up one day to a reply from Greg Nelson (Sgt Nelson and I shared the last room down the hall from the Day room) he sent a picture of Him, a guy  whose name I can't remember, but he was into german uniforms, helmets etc, and myself. It was really a fun email (posting ?). The Rat Race, tired of it to, 30 years doing mostly the same thing. Went to blast some Black Sabath yesterday to find one of my Voice Of Theater speakers dead, drat, hope I  can fix it, I wanted to die with those speakers. My Son is with the 101st Airborne (he's a blackhawk repairman/mechanic.

He is currently in Afganastan, and one of the ways I stay in contact is through Facebook. I placed a profile onto facebook so I could keep in contact with him. Like my posting on the 2nd Cav site, I got a reply on facebook from an interesting person, Becy Ammerman. She said her father was loking for somebody with my name that served with him in Germany during the 70's. How cool huh ? Got to go, take care and I hope to chat with you again soon, you OLD friend, Chuck

How about the chicken house on the traffic circle. The last time my wife and I were back was 2002.Pond Barracks has really changed a big apartment complex.
