We left Irwin Nov '10 and PCS to Hawaii (SFA-Team/STT, 3 BCT, 25th ID). Now on 10th month of deployment in Afghanistan. Possibly going to a 1SG billet in 3-4 CAV upon our return. What unit do you have at Carson?

    • James Ray Hill Jr January 12, 2012 13:09

CSM- are you still at Ft Bliss?

Hey Mac...I have had some problems getting on this site and moving around. I think I have it figured out now. Anyway, I see you ran into Adams and Iron Mike is on here now. I am going to send him a message . What did old Larry have to say? Hope everything is good for you and the family. Merry Christmas and best wishes for a great new year.

      Mac,

I apoligize for the long delay in my response. It has definitely been a long time since the Amberg. Alot of water under the bridge. After I left Amberg I hung around Ft. Knox for 4 years and became bored there, so after I DX'ed the wife I did 3 years in friedberg and then dropped out of the sky in South Carolina of all places, but better than Mississippi where the boys in the Pentagon wanted me to go. I decided that it was time not to move around any more and continued extending until I reached my retirement date of 24 years. My son, Mike Jr. joined in 2003 but was medically retired this year. I tried to get him to be a Scout but he joined the darn Chemical Corp, well I guess it's better than being a da$n Jarhead.
Hey, I hear that you made conract with Larry Adams. Do you have contact info? Please send it if you do and tell him to join this site. I miss the days I had in the "Mighty" Toujers Pret.

      Mike

I'm sorry to hear that. He was a good guy; he had a wife kids too. Was I right about him being from the Houston area? This is horrible. I'll definetly pray for his family.

Hey Dave, I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I guess I missed this thread. Yes, Robert Miller was a black guy. I think he said he was from Houston or somewhere in Texas. We were both drivers during the war. I don't suppose you have contact info for him?
I don't remember if the Go In had a hip hop side to it or not. I certainly would have been in the rock side which was always very crowded. The dance floor was always packed with people rocking out. I think there was an upstairs and a small restaraunt on one side. It was by far my fav club in Germany.

The Go In was on the outskirts of somewhere, maybe Swandorf, but I never took the train there. It was an awesome place to rock out and have a great time. I probably saw you there back in the day! Thanks for sharing your pictures; I remember the ceremony in the markplatz after we got back. I wish I had taken more photos back then. take care,
      Teddy C

I know about the good ole boy system, I lost out on my E7, so that is when I took my retirement. Where is the 11th located at now? Maybe here in the near future you can wind that old Harley up. How much longer in school? You take care, my best wishes go with you.
