Colonel Rostine,
Colonel Rostine,
I had the great fortune to serve as your adjutant for about 18 months (1970-71). What a great learning experience for me as well as my wife, Sue. I remember she was teaching GED upstairs in the Education Center and relied on your help with math and science.
Sue & I retired February 28th, 2013 and are enjoying our time in Idaho, watching two grandson grow, living near our two children and their spouses, traveling a little and seeing much of our land.
We have had a few opportunities to return to Germany and always stop by the "rock" to view our old post. I was a bit shocked in 1999 when I strolled down to HQ to check in and found our old building was a rest home and medical facility for the aged.
I hope all is well in your life. And I want to thank you for all you taught me about leadership. What a great experience for a young 1st Lt trying to find his way in the army.
I will always have fond memories of our times at Christensen Barracks and 1/2 ACR...the friendships we formed and our many experiences. Toujours Pret

Wishing you many more!!!From all of us at DragoonBase.
I haven't heard of you in years! Glad to see you on this site.
Remember me, B Troop cdr in 1972-74. I had a great tour there, and at Regt.
I too was lucky enough to come back for a tour as SCO in 1986. Bob Young, my XO in B troop followed me in command. Small world, Jack Miller was the PAO at the Rock while I was in command - he wa a great community teamate.
Life after the Army as been good for Betty and me. I think that I'm retiring this summer. Who knows; there's lots of interesting things to do yet!
