btw....have you seen the movie about our battle???   watch "Courage Under Fire"...the entire first part is about our battle. They changed sgt. Molars name to sgt. Boylar.  Guess they had to.   But it is DEFINATELY about us...cougar, saber, elements....just watch it!!

Howdy Sir, I was Cougar 83c, Medical Platoon Leader's driver, SPC David Roland, during the Battle of the 73rd Easting with you and Lance Logue. Lance and I hung out daily while you guys were in the TOC doing what you officers do....and we did what we drivers did; to keep our sanity. I was making a list of my mentors the other day and yours was listed along with Maj. Macgregor, Col. Steele, Capt. Ireardi ( prob. didnt spell that correctly). I was assign to the best squadron in the regiment from 89-91....obtained my Expert Field Medical Badge, only because of our elite standards, and served proudly with you and CSM Chapman....Thank God for good men and great standards.  I wouldnt be the man I am today without role-models like yourself sir.  Thank you for your leadership sir!  Tourjour Pret!!!!

      Sir,

I work at Fort Campbell and operate/manage the twelve MOUT sites and C-IED Lane. I had the chance to retire and go to work here or do yet another tour to Iraq. It is really good to hear from you! I have never been able to find CSM Chapman, but C6D is now MAJ(P) Andrew Mack. Served with the 82nd, 101st and 1st Cav and never found what I was lucky enough to find with 2/2 ACR.

Thanks so much for the kind words, sir, your wise counsel and enlightened leadership will always be remembered by the youngsters of that day.

I thought I recognized your name. I believe you were our troop commander in those days. I was a young recruit in A troop before going to Bindlach. I hope all is well with you and yours. Regards, Scott
