Phil, thanks for getting back to me. I must say life has interesting ways of turning and twisting. I was commissioned to give the Keynote Address last week at the Aging Aircraft Airworthiness and sustainability Conference in Brisbane, Australia. Lt General Owen was to give the keynote based on the new F-35. I decided to do the keynote with the title Military Equipment, Past, Present & Future. After some time going through my personal pictures I decided to use the internet to find pictures of the past. I fell over Dragonbase . It sure brings back memories. I have at least one picture of the barracks room that I see from some of the postings never changed. Yes, it was Sgt. Campbell. I remember because I am color blind and after getting to Red Stone I learned that I would not be going to Computer School but would be spending 4 more years in the service. Do you remember when the 105 Howitzer blew up in the motor pool behind the officers club? It damaged the Officers club roof but no one was hurt.
Hi Phil, I was also in HQ Troop from late 1967 until mid 1969. I would be willing to bet that you were involved with my Reenlistment. I signed up for 4 years in order to go to Redstone Arsenal for Nike Hercules repair school. That would have been early 1969. As I recall I waited a good while for the next class to open up.
Phil, welcome to the site. When were you at Pond Barracks / I was there 9/69-3/71/ In HQ Troop with Redeye.
Toujours Pret Phil
