I remember like it was yesterday.. Lt Holder he later became a Col or General I saw that somewhere. I remember Lt McAdams when I knew him I am sure he was promoted.  I remember E7 Folger he lived near where i did off  post with his family a great guy.

I dont know the others u are talking about below .. The LTC was Braun when I was there and CWO Miller was there when I was there.  When I was in K troop before moving on to HQ TRP or personnel was 1SG Kautz I found him he is still alive living in Colorado.. The Capt in charge of K troop when I was there was CPT Laabs he has since passed away.

If u come up with more of the past let me know

Alan, I started out in K-Troop 2nd PLT as LT. Holder's driver. He was the Platoon Leader for 2nd PLT. I drove him for about a year. During that time I became pretty good at fixing  gasoline personnel heaters on the M114 Scout Vehicles. CPT Mcadams moved me to the maintenance section and I became the tank turret mechanic. I was trained by a guy named Connery who was a draftee. He left about 6 months later and got out of the Army. I was there from Nov 66-  Dec 69. Made SGT and was the acting MTR SGT for a while until I rotated out. I went back for my last tour in the Army from 85-88, retired with 21 years and 5 months. Some of the guys I worked with my first tour 66-69: Parker, Black, Bjerke, Grignon, SSG Woods (MTR SGT), SSG Mike Allan, 1sg Folger, That's about all I can think of right now.  Take care, Jimmie Henry

It was good to hear from you.  I, too, enjoyed my time in Amberg.  Seems like long ago and, at times, not so long ago.  I have been back, twice.  Did you stay in the Army?  Where are you now--Michigan?  I am visiting my daughter in Norfolk.  She's in the Navy.  Another daughter works for ESPN.  We live in CT.  Hope to hear from you.  Dave Swarts
