My father PFC Garry Smith passed away while on duty in the armory on July 2,1974 at the time my mother was 7 mths pregnant with me.

I am reaching out to ANY ONE who may have served with my father and would be willing to share a story wither it be good or bad (nobodys perfect and I hear we share a little rebelious side) please even if was just in passing and you seen what kind of soldier he was I would love to hear it.

I didn't know about anyone being killed during that exercise. C Troop lost two men injured, one severely, on the 25th when Sheridan C-15 caught fire and exploded.

Hi Rebecca. It is such a pleasure to meet you after all these years. I do remember your father Garry Smith. He was one of my very good friends. I was near the arms room out in the field in Germany when the tragic accident happened. His death affected us all at HWB. I am glad you are well. God bless you.
