Gary;  stumbled upon this site.  Kinda remember you.  Was there at the same time as you..been a long time.  anyhow, looked up our unit as it was just in the news of a road march through eastern Europe Yes, 3/2 was on CNN!  Stryker vehicles have replaced the Sheridan's that we had, probably a good thing as the Sheridan was junk....way too big of a main gun for the light armor it had. Would love for you to  leave me a note some time, you heard from anyone?  A few years ago I touched base with Chuck Damon....funny how I recognize names from this site, and how it seems not too long ago...Geez, its been over 40 years ago! .take care and hope all is well with you.  bob

I remember when a medic dropped off urine samples, and it showed Melvin King to have Heroin... I told Capt. Deeley , impossible, that Melvin was straight up... It was funny at the time, (1975)

      Hi Ed

I remember Sgt Jessie Lane, In fact he has been in contact with me offline.

I don't remember an E-5 Carter in S-1. I was an E-4. There was a Jim Wilson, John Agular, Billy Harlow, Jim Carpenter, Rick Legrand, Melvin King, Dave Claussen, Bill Boyd, ...........

Who else do you remember from "Back in the day"?

      Gary

I was the 1975-78, had the best time of my life as a single man. Only got to the Border once, as I was generally TDY'ed to the 2nd ATC Boxing and Wrestling Teams. I had a blast traveling around fighting and wrestling as my duty assignment. I remember a Disco named "Lord Nelson's", in town that was awesome. I took two years of German in High School, also Boxed for a German Team located in Amberg, so by the end of my first year in Germany....I spoke the German Language pretty well. I had a friend Wilfrado Hughes, Spec. 4 working in the in the dental clinic at the 3/2 ACR. He was a black guy from Panama and a bodybuilder...competing in the Mr. Germany contest in 1976. Wilfrado spoke Spanish, English, German and Italian. Because we could speak the language, they let us enter clubs that were off limites. Amberg was a great time, I almost re-enlisted to stay another year....but regained my sanity before I did it.... :-} I made friends with K-Troop CO, Cpt. Marcys who was a Boxer at West Point in his College days. I fought Cpt. Marcy in a Squadran "SMOKER" and knocked him out in the second round. I got picked up by Sgt. Jackson (Army Boxing/US Olympic Coach), and became the 7th ATC Super Heavy-Weight Boxer and made it to the European Command Boxing Champiolnships.

Hi there, yep from California I retired out of the Army in Fort Stewart in 93, got tired of the politics after Somolia. Those skinnys can fuck themselves along with every other towel head. Retired as an E-8 Promotible, settled outside of Daytona Beach Riding Motorcycles and going to the Race Track. Life has been good. Well here's the low down with Sue. We devorced in 77 she was always trying to get me to come back till the day she died. She died back in 93 not far from where she and i lived when we were young. Her sister said she cared all the way till the end, never said what she died from. Oh well, she should have kept me close.
Now I've been married for 31 one years to this girl I met in Fort Hood tx in 78 her name is Gail love her to death. She's been hanging on the back of my bike for about that long. Ride a Yamaha Venture always rode yamaha, Harley is just a name with no warranty and the auora. me i like the soft no vibration sound. Hey there sometime this weekend I'll try to get some pictures together and send to you. Did you ever here from Rick? How bout those vw's haven't been in one since then. :) Good to here from you. Keep in touch old friend. e-mail is csasno@aol.com
