Jan, Good to hear from you, Just one thing we (Cav Folks) never retire, it's not in our blood cells. It's been one long winter, the snow just keeps on coming, once in a great while it thaws but comes back to haunt sore legs and shoulders. One thing is for sure, the salt mines in Salzburg made a fortune this year. Take care and stay in touch. Jack

Jan, Sorry it took so long to anwser this, I lost my password and after alot of help from my friends (Bill Barry & Dave Gettman) I'am back in the net again. Good to hear from you, I guess you are "still following your nose", never forgot you saying that, we were at a Maneuver Conference in Chimsee. Been retired 6 years now. Good to hear from you. Jack

Glad you made it too! I just wish I could remember more people! Third platoon had an SFC ... later MSG named J.P. Preston . I think he became TOP for awhile. He went out of his way to educate me, helped me grow up and put me on the right road. I have often wondered what happened to him been trying to find him for years!! To thank him. A lot of what I learned in Cav I use in my job ... they are very similar!
